Attending this meeting as well, were, Mr. Alvaro de Orleans-Borbon, vicepresident for Spain of the F.A.I.; Antonio Quintana, president of the Royal Aeronautic Spanish Federation ; Jose Luis y Felipe Aresti, sons of the deceased aviator, and Angeles Amador, lawyer of the Aresti family.
In 1960, Mr. Jose Luis Aresti created an Aerocriptografic Dictionary for Acrobatic Fligth, known world wide as “Aresti System”, used to evaluate each acrobatic manouver, fostered by the International Federation and worth its gold medal to the creator.
However, in 1988, the International Federation supersede the name of the spanish aviator for “FAI Catalogue”, begining an unencounter that has lasted up to this day and ended with the agreement achived now. An agreement suscribed by Jose Luis Aresti Mugica and Pierre Portmann under name of Aresti System S.L. and the International Federation respectivly. This way, will be restored from now on the name of Mr. Jose Luis Aresti in all documents of the International Aeronautical Federation.
The agreement contemplates a Permanent Committee of control formed by Jose Luis and Felipe Aresti representing Aresti System S.L., and Pierre Portmann and Osmo Jalovaara representing the F.A.I., naming both parts of common agreement Mr. Antonio Quintana as president of the Commitee.
During the act of the signature, Mr. Portman stated the following words:
“With great emotion I am here in front of you to sign this resolution between the F.A.I. and Aresti System S.L.. Today concludes a disagreement that has lasted several years, for sorrow of the Aresti family.
I am very sorry that a solution was not found to your husband and father before his death, giving him the credit of his work and masterpiece, which has the recognition of all the pilots of the F.A.I. in the whole world. Thanks to the effort of the persons present here and with the help of our lawyers, we have reached an agreement in the year of the celebration of the cenntenial of the F.A.I.
I see the future with great confidence, guaranteeing all pilots of acrobatic fligth of F.A.I. gratuitios access to the “Aresty Sistem” and for the Aresti family the rigths and recognition of the System.
I wish from now on a new phase of relations between the F.A.I. and the Aresti family , for an harmonic development of acrobatic flight in the future.
Thank you very much for your attention.”
